Sonic evo sets new record at Marulan Driver Training Centre

The Sonic Interactive Evo 9 GT has set a new lap record at the Marulan Driver Training Centre (MDTC) for fastest ‘non slicked’ car, with a blistering 40.29 lap time. The MDTC facility is a short, tight circuit, best suited to small nimble cars. There is very little run-off and a few off-camber and undulating sections that give the drive train a real workout. Eastern Creek Laptime data analysis from World Time Attack Challenge

Following is a comparison of 3 quick laps from the WTAC at Eastern Creek. The 1.41.7 lap (red line) is my current PB time at Eastern Creek. I have also overlaid two other laps – a 1.41.8 and a 1.41.9 which were done one after the other in a different session to the 1.41.7 lap. It is interesting to see the differences in speeds on various corners due to factors such as bravery, track condition ie: time of day, human error etc. Read more »

Sonic Evo performs well at the World Time Attack Challenge

The World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) over the weekend lived up to the hype! With about 10,000 spectators, it rivalled a V8 supercar race meeting! There were some amazing machines competing, including teams from the US and Japan. Two of the quickest evos in the world competed, the Sun Cyberevo and the Sierra Sierra Enterprises Evo 9 and they came first and second outright followed by the Tomei Cusco WRX and 4th was a GT3 spec Lotus Exige turbo driven by aussie ex-V8 supercar driver Warren Luff. Has your website lost its groove?

I find it remarkable how many websites I stumble across that haven’t been updated for many months, or even years! Lovingly created and launched, they’re left floating online, quickly becoming outdated and irrelevant. I suspect these are also the business owners convinced that internet marketing isn’t worth investing any more money in!

The simple fact is that allowing your website to remain static for a long period of time guarantees you won’t be getting the most out of your marketing investment. Read more »

Evo signage looks great and the car sets a blistering time in testing

The signage turned out amazing, the car looks fantastic. In addition Michael has smashed his PB time at Eastern creek by an astounding 3.5 seconds.

The test at Eastern Creek today was fantastic, the rim and tyre combo is awesome, the grip out of corners is like nothing i’ve felt. The Yokohama A050’s are a step ahead of the RE55s semi slicks. The A050’s come on in one lap and the grip they have is amazing, especially with the wide track of the 265/35/18 tyres. I had my foot planted on early exits from the corners and there was no loss of traction, very little understeer and the car just took off. It is gobsmacking the difference in grip compared to the 235/45/17 RE55s. Read more »

Livery design mockups complete, the car is off to the sign shop next week

Signage has now been finalised and is scheduled to be done this week or the week after, once the guards are flared. Sonja has done a fantastic job with the signage, I’m very happy with it.
